Vera aka Brenda Blyehn says farewell
I am a TV junkie, especially British TV and even more so about Vera. She drove that old, old landrover which had seen better days. She the crusty boss who cracked the whip with her team but was soft enough to provide a shoulder for anyone in her team. Yet, when everyone in the team was floundering, the case seeming uncrackable, it was she who would unearth a critical clue at the 12th hour and help her team solve the case. ITV bosses have confirmed Brenda will appear "in two more shows next year before it reaches a dramatic conclusion", according to the Sun newspaper.
For every single one of her fans this is a shot to each heart. Vera was quite unique and not your average crime investigator. She will be missed.
According to the Sun, Brenda has spoken out for the first time about how "hard" she will find walking away from her role as DCI Vera Stanhope.
She wrote on X: "Many thanks to everyone for your good wishes. So very much appreciated.
"Getting ready to start filming series 14 of Vera next week, gonna be hard saying farewell."
My heart bleeds, I am going to miss Vera.
